Asano’s Paper Moon lamps are painstakingly handcrafted in Japan’s Gifu Prefecture, the home of the traditional art of washi paper.
Each lamp is made using high-quality washi paper and a delicate bamboo frame. Experienced artisans carefully shape the bamboo ribs around wooden templates and then cover the structure sheet by sheet with washi paper. This demanding manufacturing process requires the utmost precision, patience, and craftsmanship.
